iMocha launches LogicBox - Enabling Hiring Managers to conduct faster and enhanced coding assessments for developers

Technology has significantly improved the recruitment process. Recruiters no longer have to rely on resumes to assess whether a candidate is suitable for an interview or not. Conducting pre-employment assessments has ensured that only relevant candidates are shortlisted for interviews.

Yet, there are only 2 common ways of evaluating coders and developers’ skills: coding compilers & Multiple Choice Questions. Many companies have observed that candidates get away with guesswork while attempting MCQs. It becomes more evident when they are hired and have to work on these languages.

Of these, coding compilers are still better since they actually test the candidate’s ability to code in their preferred language or framework. But as of now there are no compilers for popular platforms like Salesforce, AWS, Azure, IBM Watson, SAP and a couple others. Despite the significantly rising demand for these skills required for these platforms.

Another challenge is that coding compilers based assessments require candidates to write the entire code from scratch. Thus, making these assessments quite lengthy. For entry level positions, this may still be acceptable but for individuals with more than 2 years of experience, this is simply not feasible or preferred either.

To specifically address these challenges, iMocha has come up with an innovative question type - LogicBox, to assess a candidate’s logical approach and problem-solving skills with an Artificial Intelligence-based pseudo coding platform.

The AI-powered pseudo coding LogicBox enables faster and enhanced candidate assessments.

The AI-based platform of LogicBox leverages the concept of Machine Learning, called Keyword Matching, and feeds the keywords of correct answers into the system. Every time candidates answer these questions, the system uses an algorithm to find those specific keywords within the answers. The programme is able to intelligently evaluate the answers on its own. The answer set is further enriched when the machine checks candidates’ answers and gets relevant keywords repetitively.

The more it is used, the richer will be the keywords repository.

Instead of writing the entire code from scratch, they can write code snippets that are missing from the script. LogicBox enables candidates to concentrate on the logic and save a significant amount of time and effort.

Hiring Managers are able to efficiently assess a candidate’s approach to the problem and their thought process behind it.

A step by step guide to add LogicBox questions to your test
