While I was waiting to meet a HR at the reception of a software company, happened to have a chat with Keith – a job-seeker waiting for his interview. I casually asked him – are you waiting for a long here?

He replied…. Long… this is my fourth round of the interview – I am fed up now... Why don’t these guys ask all questions in one interview...? I have taken a half day leave for two times… my manager is extremely annoyed with my behavior now.

Check out the top 05 competency assessment tools to know the answer.

Hmm… later when I met the Jaya (HR) of this company. I narrated her the grievance of job-seeker. She said – yes I know, but what to do. You know – we recruiters can’t judge a person technically, we mostly recruit Java developers, our process is to evaluate a person on many skills like aptitude, Core Java, Struts, Design patterns etc. And we don’t stop here; we need a candidate to be a good coder, verifying his coding skills. Moreover, as he would be working with the US team, he needs to have a decent communication. Now you tell me what to do? Adding to our problem is the availability of the technical panel for different interviews. You know still we are blamed for getting irrelevant candidate for the interviews most of the time – wasting billable hours.

Later, I demoed imocha to the lady – with aptitude assessment, logical reasoning etc. I showed her, we can have different sections assessing various skills like Core Java, Oops etc Explained her how Code Evaluator automatically checks the coding skills. Even you can have descriptive questions. She asked, can you combine all this into one test and that will solve my problem…..
And we launched a multi competency assessment feature in imocha.
